I was awarded the Outstanding Dietetics Student and Award of Achievement Scholarship for Oregon. I was the first person to win both scholarships in Oregon in the history of the scholarships. In this photo, I am accepting my award from the President Monica Hunsberger, MPH,RD, PHD. View more about the awards and my recognition here.

Throughout the year, my fellow interns and I conducted research on the perceptions of college students on healthy eating and was accepted as a poster session at the ODA. Prior to conducting our research, I was in charge of writing the submission papers for review by the Oregon State University Institutional Review Board. I also had the opportunity to be the moderator for our focus group. We plan to submit our research for publication in Fall 2012. Click photo to enlarge.

Other Events...

25th Annual Oregon Agricultural Festival 2012: This is a two day event which encourages children and their families to touch, taste and experience Oregon agriculture first hand. The message is simple: know where your food comes from, and how it is produced. Through hands-on activities such as planting food, milking a cow, tractor races, and cooking demonstrations, the goal is to provide an educational and inexpensive experience for the 17,000 people that flock to Salem for the event! As interns, we hosted several cooking demonstrations sponsored by Bob's Red Mill.  View an article about us here.
